How to make a semi-permanent manicure at home?

What a joy to have a varnish that lasts well on your nails! That it does not flake off after two days. This is possible thanks to semi-permanent varnishes. These are varnishes that dry under a UV or LED lamp to be solid in the long term. But how to properly perform a pose like a professional? Today, the nail supply expert Maryton will give you answers.

Nail preparation

First of all, wash your hands and then file your nails to give them the shape you want. Use a soft, fine-grained file so as not to weaken them. And above all always file in the same direction so as not to split them! You can also use an electric nail drill if you have the necessary experience.

Push back the cuticles so that the polish is well on the nail. Then, smooth your nails with the buffer so that the surface of your nails is flat. After that, finish by applying a cleaner which will degrease your nails and remove both leftover moisturizer and dust left during nail filing.

Applying semi-permanent varnish

Start by applying a thin layer of primer to increase the adhesion of the polish to the nails. This step is not obligatory, but it is strongly recommended. Continue with a thin coat of semi-permanent varnish base. It will fix the next layer of colored varnish. It will also protect your nails from the pigments it contains. This will prevent them from yellowing.

After you have done all your nails, place your hand in the UV or LED lamp for about 30 seconds. Then proceed to the application of the semi-permanent colored varnish in two always thin coats. After each one, place your hands under the lamp for about one to two minutes.

Finishes

To finish the installation, you need to apply the top coat varnish in a thin layer. It will come and protect all the work you have just done. It will also add more shine to the varnish. Then, degrease your nails by passing a cotton pad soaked in cleaner over them and that’s it!
